Hi friends,
Having a child with learning difficulties has meant I need flexibility all the time to be ‘ready’. With my child starting school in September for the first time, this week has had me in communication with many people, from Speech and Language, the Inclusion Team, SEND support charity, the pre-School/School, to the Community Paed. Team Manager.
If I wasn’t self employed I know I’d be struggling right now. Being a self employed Foot health practitioners, though hard at times, was definitely the right decision for me and my family, especially the situation now. This is one of the reasons why I have a home studio where I see some of my foot care clients. So while it is convenient for me, it was also a strategic move in making sure I’m close by to my children and easily available if they need me.
I’m not gonna lie, these past weeks have been tough. I’ve had an influx of new foot care enquiries (as its that time of year again), but also my personal life (as above).
I’m sharing this because I know some can relate, whether its children, or elderly parents. And also, it’s genuinely how my week has been!
Anyway, I feel relieved that I was able to do all that I’ve done so far (although still much more to do). But having time, on my terms to be there for my family and still work in a job I love. is the perfect combination for me.
While I would love to say I’ll be having a restful weekend, I’ll be working all day tomorrow (Saturday), attending a CPD event on Sunday, and next week attending a two day foot health conference! After that, I think I’ll have a well deserved rest.
Have a lovely weekend and we’ll catch up next week,
Jess x
