Hi friends,
Its been a few months now that I’ve started seeing clients in my studio after doing home visits for so long. There are a few differences I’ve noticed and also getting use to.
With home visits, people seem more relaxed, I guess because they’re in their own familiar setting and benefiting from the convenience of not having to travel anywhere. At the studio, they like the environment and often complement me on how it looks and feels, but let’s face it, it’s not their favourite armchair with cushions and carpeted flooring (for my older clients anyway). When my older clients do visit me at the studio it’s now become part of their day out which is their routine every few weeks.
Since having the studio, I have seen more of a younger clientele, and while that’s great, they’re not looking for regular foot care like my older clients, more of a pamper every now and then or to deal with a specific problem they want resolving; so I can see why some FHP’s who have clinics add beauty services to their business.
Saying that, because I have a clinic space that has equipment I can’t take with me on visits, I am able to offer more specialist services, often at a completely different rate than my basic routine appointments and actually get better results and earn more. My appointment times are less too so I’m able to see more people.
So I now figured, yes, me visiting people in their home is convenient for my client, especially those who struggle to leave the house or with mobility; but having a studio / clinic space, I feel like I can deal with a problem better and with more choice.
I love both home visits and having my own studio, but I have found more benefit and better working in a clinic. I’ll continue doing both, but I do prefer one over the other.
Anyone else feel the same or do you see things differently?
See you next week
