Hi Friends,
So I only went and recorded myself enucleating a corn with a gouge blade!
When I qualified, using blades was a struggle for me, especially with removing corns and paring callus. I guess I was always anxious that I may cut the skin or myself! I’ve learned that it’s just time and practice, and can say I’m pretty good with the blade now.
When I was on my practical training, I only ever used one type of blade, but there are so many out there and I choose the ones I feel most appropriate for the corn or callus I am dealing with. Alternatively, I scrap the blade and opt for a foot file or cap/bur!
So yesterday, I had a client who had a corn, the lightening in my studio was good so I decided to pick up my camera and recorded me removing her corn with a gouge blade, as well as paring down some callus and a verruca as my new YouTube video shows.
I find it really interesting watching back at myself performing a treatment, I‘ve often looked back at them and wondered why I decided to do a treatment one way. A very good way to reflect on my practice ! :)
Anyway, here is my recent YouTube video removing two corns with a gouge blade. I hope you enjoy it. Whats your go-to for removing corns?
P.s thank you to those who attended my LIVE, didn’t fully go to plan, but still enjoyable all the same.
