Hi friends,
I recently attended a CPD day/event and was talking with some fellow FHPs. These conversations often include comparing how we all do things within our foot care businesses, our fees and other common topics.
There was one topic we spoke about and it was about listing our foot care businesses on Google.
Whenever I’m talking with people about this, for some reason they think you have to pay for it, OR it’s hard to set up, when in fact its FREE and EASY to do, even if you are a technophobe. So I say take advantage of a free listing on Google which is the most popular search engine in the world.
As some know, Google is a system that helps people find what they are looking for when they have a query, for e.g typing into the search bar ‘foot care Milton Keynes’. And if you are listed on that search engine, you will pop up as a result in that search.
I’ve been told that people need to have a website to be listed on Google. Well that’s not true! So there is nothing stopping you if this is something you want to do to get seen by potential clients.
The Pro’s for having a listing on Google is you’re positioning yourself as a viable business, you’re making yourself visible in searches, it’s free, the reviews you collect on your profile helps people trust your business (if you get good reviews!) and gain new clients…and I honestly can’t think of any cons.
A while back, maybe a couple of years ago, I did a step by step YouTube video of how to actually set up a Google my Business profile so feel free to watch if you think you need that additional support, and I’ll see you next week.
