Hi friends,
So this week is very last minute. It's been a very busy week that I forgot today was Friday 🤣! So here I am sitting at my laptop pondering my week.
I’ve noticed a lot of talk online about nail correction/bracing recently, that it reminded me I need to give an update of how my journey using the Onyfix nail correction is going.
Just over a year ago I did the training which I shared here and I feel I’ve learned a thing or two about this treatment that I’m going to share with you. So here goes!

1. Always book follow up appointments
When I first started I was so unsure how to arrange my appointments with my Onyfix clients, such as how often to see them to reapply. So Instead of booking them in for a follow up, I left it in their hands to contact me once the Onyfix had reached midway up the nail. Looking back now, I honestly don’t know why I did it like that because it really wasn’t wise 🙈. Now, I always book a follow up appointment either 8 weeks on (if they are a regular of mine aside from the Onyfix treatment) or at 3 months (people who only see me for Onyfix). This works really well for me and the client.
2. Seeing results
So I have 2 wonderful clients who are at the 6 month stage with significant improvement. Onyfix is a long game depending on the growth rate of the nail, but I’ve come to observe that around the 6 month mark, noticeable results can be seen. This has helped me inform new people who enquire about Onyfix the realistic expectations of the treatment results and their expected commitment of the treatment too.
3. Removing Onyfix with old nippers, not a bur.
When I first started I tried removing Onyfix with a bur! Never again, unless I want to keep damaging my burs and wasting my time. So now I have old nippers I no longer use for routine foot care that I only use for Onyfix as I don’t want to ruin my good nippers either 👍.
4. Onyfix Soft is very flexible in its use.
I have to be honest, I don’t use Onyfix soft as much as Onyfix hard, but when I do, it really is good. I’ve found I use it if I have a client where the Onyfix came off (by their fault or mine) I would double it up e.g apply band, cure it, apply another band on top and cure, so now it's like an Onyfix hard band), Onyfix soft will definitely not budge from the nail and will stay secure throughout. It's also great at filling split nails like a reconstruction for a small part of the nail.
5. Protecting mine and my clients eyes from the Blue light
This is a recent thing, I’m a bit slow 😅. But I now use protective glasses to protect mine and my clients eyes from the blue light. It was another FHP who mentioned this on my business page and I’m so glad she did!
6. Applying a double band
I really do think this helps in getting the best success with Onyfix; no scientific evidence, just my thoughts, so I’ll continue doing this for that extra support at correcting the nail.
7. Taking Pictures
I was talking with a friend just today, where I mentioned there are not many before and after photos shared on the success of Onyfix. And how important it is if I’m wanting to sell this treatment. So documenting the journey/change is really important in creating my own portfolio also for the client or potential to see the correction of the nail over time.
So that's my review and update of Onyfix, I love the stuff and the transformations! Was definitely worth the investment.
Have a lovely weekend and see you next week.

Hi Jess, don't know if you'll see this over a year later, but here goes!
Have you tried any other nail correction method for comparison, for example, Podostripe or COMBIped? If so, I wondered what you thought of them?
